SMASH is setting the stage to ensure young people dream big.

NBC’s ‘SMASH’ MAKE A MUSICAL is currently building 20 musical theater programs in underserved schools nationwide. MAKE A MUSICAL is such a success, we’re already looking for new schools to participate in the fall of 2012!

Our children are in danger of having less access to the arts than we did. And that’s not okay. Musicals in our Schools is a full week of advocacy activities designed to remind the world just how important musicals are in our young people’s lives.

The Junior Theater Festival is the world’s largest festival exclusively dedicated to young people performing musical theater.  The festival is held annually in Atlanta, Georgia over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Thanks to NBC’s ‘SMASH’ Make A Musical we’ve accomplished the following:

  • 640 hours of on-site, teacher training!
  • Over 1,000 children nationwide are rehearsing their very first musical!
  • 13,000 plus children have new access to quality arts programs!
  • Over 52,000 people will be in the audience cheering the accomplish of these young performers!
